Here it is
(from the begining)

Before I could start her paint job, I had to sand and prime the surface. This proved to be a very difficult task because I had used silicone caulking to adhear previous art pieces to the car. Sanding alone took what felt like one-hundred years (because of the silicone). I had to sand so vigorously that I had exposed the bare metal in many spots. You can see those spots are covered with gray primer in the image below.
Ah, much better. Here she is 10 days later after 2 coats of white paint. this paint job was done entirely with a rollers and careful masking. Special thanks to my momma for helping me paint and keeping me company :) I love you Mom.

Alright, heres where I really got movin and groovin. This is when I painted on the first quilt blocks. I started with yellow on the roof because its my lightest color and in the least visible spot (just in case I hated my work.) After the roof, my work space slowly spread over the rest of the car with little rhyme or reason.

The next thing to paint after the roof was the drivers side. this was how it started. I drew and cut out my shapes on cardstock, then traced them onto the car with pencil. Then I carefully went in with paint and filled in my shapes. You can see the masking tape I used to make sure those shapes all ligned up.

to minimize mess and accidental color mixing, I worked with one color at a time.

This is what she looked like with all the solid color finished.

Heres some photos of the detail work that I've done. I really like how the small floral prints bring everythig together. At this point shes looking less like a "colors and shapes" car:/... and more like the quilt she was always meant to be :).
more photos with detail work coming soon :)
